Scooby Doo and the Caveman Caper by James Gelsey Illustrated by Duendes del Sur

Synopsis
Zoinks! Daphne's going to perform with Olympic figure skater Betty Kunkle. But when Betty's signature silver skates disappear, it looks like there's another mystery to solve. Only problem is, the criminal appears to be a prehistoric caveman! It's up to Scooby and his friends to find the caveman and put him back where he belongs, on ice!

My thoughts:
I grew up watching Scooby Doo.  I remember watching it after school while having a snack before I went out to play.  Sometimes it surprises me that it is still around.  My children enjoy it and have been picking out Scooby books from book orders, libraries and book stores.  My son brought this one home from the library this week.  We took turns reading pages.  I must say that it reads a lot like the TV show, and is still as predictable, but anything that gets kids reading is fine with me.  It is hard sometimes to get kids to put down their video games and the TV remote.  My two older children enjoy reading and are good readers, but sometimes it I feel like they don't read enough on their own.  I'm glad we spent some time reading together yesterday.
